Vertical Basket

Vertical Basket collection is a set of furniture consisting of a stool, table, vertical planter, and lamp. The design process involved combining technology, design, and traditional weaving techniques to create a range of functional items using the same structure.

In terms of technology, sustainable materials were utilized, including a coffee chaff-based material that repurposes up to 145 tons of waste generated annually during the coffee roasting process, ensuring that these materials do not end up in landfills. This material is mixed with recycled plastic, resulting in rattan substitutes that retain the natural texture of the original form while incorporating attractive, non-toxic colors.

In terms of design, we have developed a system of wooden structures in four different sizes. These structures guide artisans in easily weaving along the frame, ensuring standardized form and size. The accessible nature of these furniture items makes them suitable for use in residences, restaurants, and hotels.

Drawing inspiration from Thailand's rich weaving heritage, which encompasses various patterns and techniques across different regions, the collection pays homage to the traditional "basket." This versatile item can be found in craft communities, serving as a key source of inspiration for this collection.
